It’s me again; it would appear that no-one took up the challenge to write a few words so I’ve been volunteered …….yet again. Firstly let me thank everyone who supported the Christmas bash…..I hope everyone enjoyed themselves, there where a few minor problems with the menu but hopefully it didn’t spoil anyone’s day, I know I enjoyed myself.
Well the year is now well on its way, with only a few weeks left before we host another open shoot, the course captain would appreciate any and all who are willing to help with the setting of the course and as importantly marshalling on the big day (20th April), so please don’t just put your bows up on a Sunday and disappear into the woods, because you might find the course isn’t where you think it is…..lol.
On a much lighter note, the first quarter has seen club members out and about on various local shoots and yet again we can hold our heads up high as the medal tally just keeps increasing….what more can I say on that one…..either as a club were all very lucky and we’ve all been born archers or we’ve had good sound training, and plenty of practice on what I still believe is a challenging home course……( I don’t think anyone’s managed to go round and score 36 kills)
For those of you who don’t know three members attended the 21st NFAS Scottish Champs this year……the weather was far better than forecast so all you who stayed in the south west area and got wet….aaawww. The courses were challenging, as a champs should be, the wildlife on the course was brill with red squirrels, deer and kite being seen both days. For those of you asking how we did…..well, the club did very well indeed with a 100% record ….. 3 members attended and three medals won.
Christopher Brown took first place in cub boys H/T
Brian Brown took third place in Gents Primitive
Jonn Cramman took first place in Gents Primitive.
Right that’s enough rambling from me, all I would like to say is keep up the good work, keep shooting straight and true.
As a final final word I would like to thank all who supported the skittles night I think it went down well and to all who couldn’t attend keep your eyes open here for another in the autumn.
Good luck all.
